Clarinbridge Camogie Club is devastated to learn of the passing of Emily McVeigh (Burke) earlier today.

Emily played with the Club all her life, and was full forward on the winning Junior A team of 2014.

After she hung up her hurl, Emily  remained one of our biggest supporters. When big occasions rolled around, the first maroon flag raised, and the biggest bonfire lit, would invariably be in Ballinabucky.

On the field, Emily was as tough as nails, fearless and immensely determined: qualities that were again to the fore in her battle with illness. This was one match, however, that she could not win.

To her husband Seán, beloved children: Lucy, who plays with our U-7s, Jamie and Grace, parents Agnes and Johnny, siblings Fiona, Aoife, Shane and Brian, and the extended Burke and McVeigh families, we extend our deepest sympathies.

Suaimhneas síoraí dá hanam.

As a mark of respect, our Club A.G.M. due to take place on Sunday evening, has been postponed.
